Clinical Leadership and Experience
Cathy Puckett, FNP-BC, serves as Clinical Director and Partner at Thryv Medical, bringing nearly three decades of healthcare experience to the practice. Her clinical background is rooted primarily in emergency and urgent care medicine, where she developed extensive experience evaluating complex presentations, making clinical decisions, and caring for patients across a wide range of medical needs.
Cathy began her healthcare career at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital while completing her undergraduate studies at Rutgers University. She later attended Columbia University’s accelerated nursing program and continued her education to become a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
A More Individual Approach to Care
At Thryv Medical, Cathy oversees clinical care with an emphasis on understanding the individual rather than treating a single symptom or laboratory value. Her approach incorporates comprehensive testing, medical history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and ongoing measurement to guide treatment decisions.
Her primary areas of focus include hormone therapy, medically managed weight loss, metabolic health, and therapies designed to support patients as their needs change over time. Rather than relying on standardized protocols alone, Cathy emphasizes appropriate medical oversight, regular evaluation, and adjustments based on each patient’s response.
Experience That Informs Her Perspective
Cathy also understands many of these concerns from a personal perspective, having navigated her own experiences with weight management and hormone therapy. That experience complements her clinical background and provides additional perspective on the challenges patients can encounter when trying to improve how they feel and function.
A longtime Suwanee resident, Cathy has spent much of her professional and personal life in the community she now serves through Thryv Medical.
Together with her husband, Jay, Cathy has helped shape Thryv around a straightforward principle: good medicine should be personal, measurable, carefully managed, and focused on helping people function and feel better over the long term.
